The impact of EU law on national private law
Within this research theme I study the interplay between European Union law and national private law. I am particularly interested in the influence primary and secondary rules of EU law have on open norms within private law (‘fairness’, ‘safety’, ‘fit for purpose’) and concepts like causation and damages within the domains of unfair commercial practices, product liability and (consumer) sales law. This research is carried out within the first pillar of the research programme of the Tilburg Institute for Private Law (TIP)
